Walls

(English) The R.U.A. – Reflexo on Urban Art concept is to transform any city in the world into a huge exhibition of high quality contemporary street art. Our priority is to work in neglected urban areas where art makes a difference and people will be inspired by unexpected beauty.

Yet in Holland it is isn’t easy to convince owners of big buildings to let graffiti artists paint their properties. Especially in Amsterdam where most of the city is a historic monument and the picturesque view is strictly maintained by the city governance, it has not been easy… As soon as the word ‘graffiti’ is heard, doors close and faces become grumpy. The more we get into the fighters spirit and make sure people understand the objectives of R.U.A.

The first edition or R.U.A. in Rotterdam paved the way for many other projects to emerge. It also gave us the strength to insist in Amsterdam as well. Slowly housing corporations and private owners change their attitude and minds about graffiti art and art in public space…
