Claudio Ethos

The work of Claudio Ethos, born in São Paulo in 1982, consists of paintings and drawings using a variety of materials. His paintings are developed in different forms and shapes, with a focus on exterior mural paintings, graffiti and muralism. Ethos’ trademark style derives from his designs and use of black and white, resulting in work with a more classic character. He explores colours in a subtle and well-considered way. By using shadows, Ethos creates volumes in his paintings.

Ethos started painting when still a kid inspired by graffiti art in the streets of São Paulo. His work is seen in the streets of São Paulo for over ten years now. Later he   studied painting and photography at the federal academy of visual arts in Londrina. Ethos had his first solo-exposition in Grottaglie (Italy) in 2007, followed by several different street art festivals in which he participated in the same city.
Since 2008, Ethos works regularly in the US. The first time with the 101 Minna Gallery. In the following years, he returned several times to the US, and did shows in New York and Miami. Today Ethos is especially exploring his mural art in public space throughout Europe and the US.
